How To: Add UNC Accounts in Titan SFTP Server

How To: Add UNC Accounts in Titan SFTP Server

Question

Can I add user accounts to utilize for accessing file shares(for user sessions) that require elevated permissions in Titan SFTP Server?

Reasoning

As an admin, I would need to access resources across the network. In some occasions, this means access data on a file share. For security reasons, this file share is not open to everyone so I need to be able to utilize a specific user account to access said file share so a user can access their home folder.

Answer

In Titan SFTP Server, you can configure UNC accounts, which means you can add user accounts and assign them to a specific UNC path so Titan knows to use those credentials to authenticate and access said resource for user sessions(accessing their home folder or a virtual folder on a share).

Steps

  1. Navigate to the server level and click on the UNC Accounts tab.
  2. To add a UNC Account, click on the “+” icon on the right hand side of the screen.
  3. Configure the UNC path and add the user credentials.

NOTE: Make sure you enter the path correctly and also confirm the user account being used has sufficient permissions to access the path outside of the application.

  1. Click on Add.
