How To: Set up disk quotas

How To: Set up disk quotas

Question

How do I make use of disk quota in Titan?

Reasoning

I have limited storage available and want to avoid a scenario where a user uploads files that would occupy all the disk space causing issues for other users.

Answer

You can enable disk quotas in Titan/Cornerstone so you can limit the amount of disk space users can utilize.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Files/Directories and select the Disk Quotas tab and click on the enable check box.

  1. Choose the maximum disk usage in Kilobytes.

  1. Include any files or file types under “Free Files” that will be excluded from the quota requirements and not count against the limit set in the previous step.
  2. Click on apply.
  3. You can click on “recalculate” to refresh how much is currently being used.

  1. You can click on “Explore” so you can navigate to the physical folder where the disk quota is being applied to.
  1. If done at the server level, all of the users activity will be considered for the disk quota limit, but you can also set a disk quota at the group and user level respectively.

NOTE: If set to “Use Inherit Setting”, it will be using the parent object setting.
